Atomic by Quantum

DESIGNED FOR APPENDIX K

The Atomic by Quantum is a high-quality twin-tube shock absorber that conforms to the requirements of FIA Appendix K. It has a steel body and is available with one or two ways of external adjustment.
Per period specification, the piston operates inside a central oil filled chamber that is surrounded by a reservoir containing oil and gas at atmospheric pressure. A base valve controls the flow of oil into the outer reservoir tube during compression. Shims provide a velocity sensitive restriction to flow and external adjustment is by way of a bleed screw. One-way adjustable dampers have their bump damping set at the factory and are not externally adjustable for compression.
Shims on the piston are responsible for rebound damping. Rebound adjustment is available on all models. The adjuster is accessible via a window in the top eye or directly from the end of the shaft.
The Atomic is available with rubber mounting bushes or spherical bearings to suit individual applications. Adjustable coil-over spring platforms, non-adjustable spring platforms and plain bodies for divorced springs and dampers are all available. 1.9” internal diameter spring hardware is standard and 2.25” spring hardware is optional.
By careful selection of methods and materials the Atomic offers consistent, reliable and legal performance to everyone, as an alternative to OEM parts that are difficult source and often impossible to buy new or service.
